Black Hull
|
When
she came in the beginning, she was one of the first 15-M yachts.
Built at Fairlia in Scotland in the Fife family yard and launched
in the spring of 1909. Without delay, Tuiga was tossed into
the heat of regatta sailing. She had a number of victories,
leading to a racing career which lasted until WW1. Sold in 1916,
Tuiga changed owners several times. Finally she went to Cyprus
in 1989 as the property of the Swiss collector Albert Orbrist.

Black/White Hull

The
restoration which followed was on a considerable scale, entrusted
to Fairlie Restoration in England. The works did not complete
until 1993, and was rebuilt according to the standards of that
era as the yard did not have the original plans. |
